Sightseeing

St Lucia Piton Moutains

St Lucia is famous for its stunning scenery owing to its volcanic landscape.

The Pitons are twin peak mountains south of the island, next to Sugar Beach, and can be simply admired via a boat trip from Marigot Bay (about 30 minutes non-stop) with stop on the beach or explored on foot for those more adventurous.

Pigeon Island National Park to the north of the island (now a peninsula) served as a British military base during French and British occupation. An educational walk, snorkel and bite to eat on the beach are all recommended in the area.

Watersports

A range of watersports are available within Marigot Bay from the beach. Hire of a kayak or paddle board, or spot of snorkeling is available simply by turning up.

Fishing trips, catamaran hire or scuba diving can all be accessed from Marigot Bay from a range of licensed businesses.

Boat trips on Red Sunset are a great way to enjoy the water and explore the island. Trips can take you to Soufriere, a fishing town south of the bay, down to Sugar Beach near the Pitons. Enjoy some snorkeling along the way.

Excursions

As a volcanic island with lush rainforest, St Lucia offers a range of activities to soak up and enjoy this lovely environment.

Activities range from zip lining, hiking the Pitons, AVT tours, water rafting, waterfalls, mud baths and sulphur springs.

St Lucia has it's own rum distillery, only 10 minutes drive from the villa, for small tours, tasting and the purchase of a bottle (or two!).

And don't forget the delights of chocolate making from locally grown cocoa beans at Project Chocolate.

Resorts & Beaches

All beaches in St Lucia are public and therefore open for all to use. Resorts will ensure their sun-loungers are used for their patrons, but some have guest sun-loungers (such as Sugar Beach near the Pitons) free of charge; and resort beach restaurants may be used, just mention you are a paying guest.

A number of resorts will accommodate a 'day pass' visit for a fee. You will have access to all the All Inclusive elements such as meals, drinks, pool and beach facilities. This is a lovely way to spend the day; some of our favourites are Rabot by Hotel Chocolate and StolenTime an adult only resort. Simply call the hotels to enquire about prices and availability, booking ahead is essential.
